CHINESE ELM BONSAI IN GLAZED BLUE CLAY POT. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 17. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree shows many exposed Roots 4. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1.75. Canopy: The canopy measures 22 wide. POT: Baby Blue Malaysian ceramic glazed pot (11X3.5). Most of the trees I sell are still a work in progress, but this Chinese Elm is a Bonsai composition that is now show ready. I have enjoyed watching this tree grow and mature into the fine bonsai specimen that you see now. Most of the masterpiece bonsai trees that I eventually sell were started by the original first generation Japanese American bonsai masters that Ive studied under here in the west coast. This composition in particular has been worked several times over the past years by experience bonsai masters to bring to fruition. The Chinese elm is one of the most versatile trees in bonsai. Along with the Olive it is an ideal starter tree for beginners because it is easy to care for and resilient. It is also a perfect choice for the experienced bonsai artist because of the trees ability to challenge you in the design flow. Because the Chinese Elm can adapt quite easily too many different environments as well as resist many diseases makes this tree an outstanding choice for all bonsai collectors. For a tree that is only 17 inches tall, this small giant shows a lot of seasoned character within the branches that only time can provide. Along with the outstanding curvy trunk the tree is also blessed with all the right ingredients to make it into a future masterpiece. This is a Bonsai tree that can be cherished for many years and if you like the pictures than I guarantee that you will love the tree. Complementing the sinuous trunk as well as the entire composition is an old Malaysian glazed baby blue round bonsai pot. Unfortunately, the old pot does show a very fine surface crack that has since been repaired. On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message.
