BONSAI TREE RARE INDOOR OR OUTDOOR CHUHIN CORK BARK JADE in TOKONAME CLAY POT

BONSAI TREE RARE INDOOR OR OUTDOOR CORK BARK JADE. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia at the base of both trees is approximately 1.5. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 14. Canopy: The canopy spread is 9.5 across. Nebari: Root flare is 6 across. This rare Cork Bark Jade (Portulacaria afra) is a mutated “Cork” variety of Jade that is seldom found. The rare plant first appeared in a Florida nursery in the early 1960s. At first it was thought to have some sort of fungal disease. A heavy application of pesticide nearly eradicated the problem by killing most of the plants. Fortunately, one survived before the nursery went out of business and the plant made its way to the West Coast. This tree was grown here in Southern California by a local artist who accidentally discovered this mutation many years ago and has been growing them ever since. The Cork on the plant usually appears after the plant has reached the ages of 5-8 years old. As seen in the photographs, this trees Cork appearance is well established and will become even more dramatic as it matures. Along with being one of the most resilient of succulents and having the appearance of a miniature jade plant, this Portulaca relative is very well suited for bonsai and the Cork Bark is like icing on the cake with its added attraction of the fissured, corky bark. Bright light and lean conditions (Little water) seem to promote the best fissured bark but also considerable patience. The specimen in the final photograph is a tree that came from the very same plant this tree came from. The tree belongs to my friend Frank Yee who has been training the tree for more than 40 years now and is something to aspire to. As with traditional bonsai, these specimens can become horticultural heirlooms that can be passed down from generation to generation. Complementing the powerful presence of the tree as well as the entire composition is an old Japanese Tokoname “Sankyou” ceramic bonsai pot (9×6x1.5). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1.5. Canopy: The canopy measures 17 wide. The Catlin Elm (Ulmus Parvifolia’Catlin’). Is a dwarf variety of Chinese Elm that was specifically raised as a bonsai plant by John Catlin of La Canada, California (circa 1950). The leaves are very small and will remain that way throughout the trees life. It is a highly sought-after tree (cultivar) that is not known to have been introduced anywhere else except the U. Along with the Olive it is an ideal starter tree for beginners because it is easy to care for and resilient. It is also a perfect choice for the experienced bonsai artist because of the trees ability to challenge you in the design flow. Because the Catlin Elm can adapt quite easily too many different environments as well as resist many diseases makes this tree an outstanding choice for all bonsai collectors. For a tree that is only 17 inches tall, this small giant shows a lot of seasoned character within the branches that only time can provide. Along with the outstanding curvy trunk the tree is also blessed with all the right ingredients to make it into a future masterpiece. This is a Bonsai tree that can be cherished for many years and if you like the pictures than I guarantee that you will love the tree. Bonsai Tree Shohin Japanese Juniper (Procumbens Nana) in Tokoname Clay Pot

Bonsai Tree Shohin Japanese Juniper (Procumbens Nana) in Tokoname Clay Pot. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia. Is approximately 1 inch. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 8. Canopy: The canopy is well proportioned and measures 7 wide. Nebari (Root Spread):Root spread is visible throughout base and is 3. This small Japanese Juniper is one of the most popular evergreen trees in the United States. When we think of a traditional bonsai and what it should look like, we think of the Karate Kid and the Procumbens Nana juniper. The dramatic deadwood along with the thick curvy trunk convey a rare expression of age, yet the full canopy and short stature give a sense of strength and vibrancy despite its small size. Is also very hardy, long-lived, and tolerates many adverse conditions. Juniperus Procumbens is a low-growing juniper native to southern Japan. With its graceful canopy and impressive trunk this little bonsai is one that everyone should try to have in their bonsai collection. Complementing the impressive stature of the small tree is a rectangular Japanese production Tokoname ceramic bonsai pot (8.5×6x2.5) that works very well with the trees size. BONSAI TREE OLD SMALL LEAF OLIVE with 3.5 Trunk in OLD JAPANESE CLAY POT

BONSAI TREE OLD SMALL LEAF OLIVE with 3.5 Trunk. We realize that the winter chill is affecting many parts of the U. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 19. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 3.5 inches. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree shows many exposed Roots 8. The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven. Many of the trees that we sell are still a work in progress, but this old small leaf Olive is a completed tree that is also show ready. It has never been shown anywhere else until today. The tree represents some of the best material that we have to offer. I personally have enjoyed watching this tree grow and mature into the fine bonsai specimen that you see today. Most of the masterpiece bonsai trees that we eventually do sell were started by the original first generation Japanese American bonsai masters that Ive studied under here in the west coast. This tree in particular has been worked on several times over the past years by experience bonsai masters to bring to fruition. This tree in particular is a very old Olive (olea europaea) tree that is gorgeous and in excellent condition. While creating this piece we decided to make the dramatic nebari (root flare) the center point of the composition. Nevertheless, I find that the branch structure of this tree works well in this mature bonsai. Along with the proper spacing of the branches, the tiny leaves add a realistic harmony to this small giant. The only drawback with owning an olive is that the tree is a very slow grower. The reason this tree shows good age in the trunk area as well as the canopy is because it is old, there are no tricks around showing an old gnarled trunk on an olive! Adding to the synergy of the powerful trunk as well as the entire composition is an oval Japanese production Tokoname ceramic Bonsai pot that is also old (16.5×14x4.5). BONSAI TREE TWIN TRUNK BOXWOOD in JAPANESE TOKONAME CLAY POT

BONSAI TREE TWIN TRUNK BOXWOOD in TOKONAME CLAY POT. We realize that the winter chill is still impacting many parts of the U. Canopy: Both canopies are created to work in concert with each other 25 across. Height: The height of the taller tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 20. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has several dramatic exposed Roots. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 2.5 inches. By nature, twin-trunks give an impression of serenity and in the case of this boxwood there is tranquility in this Mother/Daughter pairing that the viewer can admire for hours. The resilient ability of the boxwood is one of the many reasons why I love this plant. I find that the branch structure lends itself particularly well to the twin trunk style, and the small leaves make the tree look quite realistic. Another advantage to having a twin trunk boxwood is that with time the two trunks will fuse together beautifully at the base as is visible in the photographs. Another attribute that I admire about the boxwood is that the foliage responds well to pruning and styling, giving the ability to give each trunk its own individual canopy, but still works in concert with its partner. A stand-alone boxwood is beautiful but shaping the tree into a twin-trunk makes it appear more majestic. I could not imagine a species more suited to the twin trunk style than the boxwood. Adding to the synergy of the beautiful twin trunk and tree is an oval Japanese production Tokoname bonsai pot (16x 12x 4). The old pot is in great shape and shows no visible cracks or chips, but plenty of patina. The item “BONSAI TREE TWIN TRUNK BOXWOOD in JAPANESE TOKONAME CLAY POT” is in sale since Thursday, March 22, 2018.
