Pre Bonsai 5 Tree Bald Cypress Forest #573

Pre Bonsai 5 Tree Bald Cypress Forest #573 Each of these trees is nice on it’s own – should make a good group. Obviously, you’ll be able to come up with a much more pleasing arrangement – I just spread them out so you could see them. Note these are In the larger tub. I would be happy to build a forest to your preferences – just shoot me a note describing what you are looking for. Bald Cypress are easy to grow – they like lots of water, but require little else. These trees have recently been dug, the tops and roots cut back and are ready for a training pot. While its possible to go straight to a bonsai pot, youll get much better results if you spend a couple of years growing small feeder roots in a training pot while you style the top. You will want to use a less porous soil than you would for other varieties. Potting soil will work fine for the training pot. Bald Cypress will do fine in full sun, but you will find it much easier to keep them moisturized in the shade. And dont forget to give the top a nice quick shower as often as you can. They will do great grown in standing water, just dont forget to treat for mosquitos. But keep in mind that plants in pots are far less cold hardy than plants in the landscape, so I would protect them. Better to be safe than sorry. Keep in mind I spend all of about 2 minutes planting these trees for the photos. Its just to help you visualize how the tree might look planted. I often get the soil level too high or too low and I usually leave roots that most likely need to be removed. Many trees will look great bare root and then when I review the planted photos, they lookwellnot so great. I would encourage you to look closely at the bare root photos to see how you might improve the planted look. You can hold a straight edge up to your screen on the bare root photos and adjust the level to your liking to simulate different planted depths. Looking for something in particular? So send me a photo or a description of the tree that you want to copy and Ill start looking. The item “Pre Bonsai 5 Tree Bald Cypress Forest #573″ is in sale since Sunday, April 24, 2016. BONSAI TREE OLD COLLECTED SUMO OLIVE in RARE TAISHO ERA-KINKA TOKONAME POT

BONSAI TREE OLD COLLECTED SUMO OLIVE in RARE TAISHO ERA-KINKA TOKONAME POT. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 10.5. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 5.5 above base. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has several exposed Roots at base showing 9. Age: Approx 74 years old. Has been in training for many years, but recently cut back drastically. The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven. When it comes to classic bonsai display, a very fine old tree deserves a very old pot. In this case, we decided to outdo ourselves by pairing the tree with a pot that is a bit older in age. The 100 year old (pre-Yamaaki Akitsuga) Tokoname bonsai pot was made during the Taisho era of Japan. The old potters name who created this piece was Katoaka Akitsuga (pronounced Kinka). He was also the person who in 1928 founded the great Yamaaki kiln in city of Tokoname, Japan. We normally clean our pot with simple soap and water and then condition with walnut oil, but in this case we decided to leave the pot untouched due to the patina that is found throughout the old pot. The patina on the pot is fabulous and has started to glow with age. The pot does have a very small chip on the back side of the pots lip that is also covered with patina so it is probably a very old chip. By nature, hollow trunk trees give an impression of enduring power and with the timeless history of the Olive, the trees composition adds to an already impressive bonsai. The Olive tree has always been regarded as a symbol of life and peace. There is a majestic beauty in this tree that the viewer can admire for hours. The resilient ability of the Olive is one of the many reasons why I love this plant. The tree is believed to live beyond 2000 years. The Olives from the. Are actually still alive today. I find that the branch structure of this tree works well in this mature little bonsai. Along with the proper spacing of the branches, the tiny leaves add a realistic harmony to this small giant. The only drawback with owning an olive is that the tree is a very slow grower. The reason this tree shows good age in the trunk area is because it is old, there are no tricks around showing an old gnarled trunk on an olive! On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message. IMPORTED 7 YEARS AGO pedestal Not included. This picture does not do my tree any justice but I tried capturing front back and side to side for your viewing. Please refer to the 2-liter Sunkist for size comparisons. The Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia) is endemic to south-east Asia and especially China. In its home countries it can become a mighty tree up to 25 m tall and with 1 m trunk diameter. The Chinese Elm develops a fine ramification and small leaves very easily which makes it a very good bonsai plant. The Elm is often confused with the Zelkova but if you compare their leaves the difference is clearly recognizable. The Chinese Elm is the most popular. Specific Bonsai care guidelines for the Chinese Elm bonsai Position: The Chinese elm grows well in full sun and also in partial shade. In mild climates it can stay outside during the winter. A Chinese Elm bought as an indoor bonsai can be placed outside during the summer and in winter it is best to take it into a cold frost-free room. Chinese Elms can usually endure some frost but it seems that it differs depending on the region it was imported from (This ones from Japan styled in USA By RamCa Bonsai). Trees from northern Chinese regions seem to be more frost-hardy that those from southern areas. Depending on the temperatures of their winter quarters Chinese Elms can either drop their leaves or keep them until spring when the new shoots emerge. Watering: The Chinese Elm must be watered generously as soon as the soil gets dry. Drought should be avoided as well as permanent wetness. Feeding: During the growing season the Chinese Elm should be fed well. It doesn’t require very special fertilizer. A combination of solid organic fertilizer and a well-balanced liquid chemical product is a good concept. When the elm is in a cold place in winter it should not be fed during dormancy. Pruning: If you let the Chinese Elm grow freely it will thicken rapidly. It responds well to frequent trimming which produces a dense ramification and it also buds well from old wood after strong pruning. Allow shoots to extend to 3 or 4 nodes and then prune back to 1 or 2 leaves. A good time for pruning large branches of the Chinese elm is late autumn. The elm can be shaped very well with normal wiring and guy wires. Repotting: Younger Chinese Elms should be repotted every two years, older and large specimens can be repotted in longer intervals. Spring is the best time for repotting. Root pruning should be done with precision and as the Chinese Elm tends to produce crooked and intertwined roots you should work on them very carefully in order to create a regular nebari as good as possible. The Chinese Elm has no special requirements concerning the soil, but it should be well-drained. A standard soil mixture can be used. Propagation: Chinese Elm Bonsai trees can be propagated by cuttings without problems usually. Propagation by seeds is less recommendable. Pests and diseases: Often the Chinese Elm is infested by spider mites or scale when humidity is low. Appropriate pesticides should be used and frequent spraying with water might help additionally. Spraying with thinned lime-sulfur or systemic pesticides can make the Chinese Elm drop all its leaves, so avoid these products. BONSAI TREE KISHU SHIMPAKU JUNIPER in Japanese Clay Pot. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 18. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1.75 inches. Nabari: The root spread is visible throughout base 8. Japanese Clay Pot: 13×10x4. Most of the trees I sell are still a work in progress, but this Kishu Shimpaku Juniper is a finished tree that is now show ready. It has never been shown anywhere until today. The tree represents some of the best material I have to offer. I have enjoyed watching this tree grow and mature into the fine bonsai specimen that you see today. Most of the masterpiece bonsai trees that I do sell were started by the original first generation Japanese American bonsai masters that Ive studied under here in the west coast. This tree in particular has been worked several times over the past years by experience bonsai masters to bring to fruition. This bonsai is also a living masterpiece in continuous evolution, which will allow you to observe close up the changing of the seasons and the beauty of nature. Although the tree is midsize, it exemplifies what a bonsai is all about. This wonderful and old bonsai looks like a big tree. John Naka once said, Dont make your tree look like a bonsai, make your bonsai look like a tree. I believe that this tree lives up to Mr. As most of you may know, the Shimpaku Juniper is a very slow growing tree and for that reason, many will graft Shimpaku foliage to different variety of Junipers that grow much faster i. San Jose juniper or Prostrata Junipers. This Shimpaku is not grafted, it is 100% authentic Kishu Shimpaku Juniper. The Kishu portion attests to the lush green growth of the foliage. The trunk does show nice age, but the foliage scale is the part of the tree that is the most impressive. The reason I claim this, is due to the amazing emerald green condensed scale foliage that the tree is showing. Many consider the shimpaku juniper one of the most pleasant trees to work with because of its soft foliage and this one is in deed a very beautiful tree. Overall, the composition of this Shimpaku conveys a tree that has aged gracefully. The strong curvature of the trunk and its branches gives one the impression of a tree that has spent its entire life on an open, but windy prairie. Much has been written about the Shimpaku Juniper so I will not repeat what has already been documented, but if you are interested in learning more about this breathtaking tree, a. The site comes up as PDF format so it takes a little while to load up, but it is a safe and secure source. Adding to the beautiful synergy of the canopy, foliage, and trunk is an old Japanese ceramic bonsai pot (13×10x4). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. JUNIPER in YAMAAKI POT. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 3 inch. Nebari (Root spread): The root spread is generous 6. Imagine and old majestic Sequoia (tree) in the mist of nature. When designing a bonsai one of the things I always try to accomplish is to tell a story with the tree that I’m creating. A successful bonsai tree must be more than just a plant in a pot. The tree should always generate some kind of emotion for it to be a successful composition. In short, bonsai should always be like a silent poem and a three dimensional painting which bring and adds peace to our lives. In the case of creating this tree the negative space was as important as to where we decided to place the branches. In order to create this tree everything that was not necessary was removed. When I first acquired this tree it was with the intent of adding it to my Foemina forest, but the tree looked to good standing on its own. Nevertheless, the Foemina Juniper also has the perfect foliage and upright growth to be added to a forest planting. Along with their perfectly straight trunks that taper to the apex, they also have just the right amount of branches to make a very natural grove. Combined with its rustic appearance that this tree shows makes it a winning combination for any collector. Complementing the dramatic stature of this majestic tree is an equally impressive and very fine shallow Japanese Tokoname Yamaaki Bonsai pot (14×11x2.5). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable.
