Bonsai Tree Rare Indoor Or Outdoor Cork Bark Jade Forest

BONSAI TREE RARE INDOOR OR OUTDOOR CORK BARK JADE FOREST. We realize that the winter chill has reached many parts of the U. Katade mochi` (Mid size). Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia at the base of the big tree is approximately 1.5. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 14. Canopy: The canopy spread across all trees is 10. By nature, Sankan style (triple trunk) trees give an impression of harmony and with the rustic appearance of the Cork Bark Jade, this composition adds to an already impressive bonsai. The rare plant first appeared in a Florida nursery in the early 1960s. At first it was thought to have some sort of fungal disease. A heavy application of pesticide nearly eradicated the problem by killing most of the plants. Fortunately, one survived before the nursery went out of business and the plant made its way to the West Coast. This tree was grown here in Southern California by a local artist who accidentally discovered this mutation many years ago and has been growing them ever since. The Cork on the plant usually appears after the plant has reached the ages of 10 years old. As seen in the photographs, this trees Cork appearance is well established and will become even more dramatic they mature. Along with being one of the most resilient of succulents and having the appearance of a miniature jade plant, this Portulaca relative is very well suited for bonsai and the Cork Bark is like icing on the cake with its added attraction of the fissured, corky bark. Bright light and lean conditions (Little water) seem to promote the best fissured bark but also considerable patience. As with traditional bonsai, these specimens can become horticultural heirlooms that can be passed down from generation to generation. Complementing the serene posture of the forest is a rectangular Houtoku Seito ceramic bonsai pot that was made in Yokkaichi, Japan (12×8.5×3). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message. Dormant Cork Bark Chinese Elm. 16″ Tall 13″ wide 1 3/4+ thick trunk, measured at the current Soil Line! Dormant-NOT growing-NO leaves until warm again. This was just cut back today-12/11/17 to fit a box and eliminate advantageous branches. It grew OK this year with some new long growth(Pic#2 before being cut back). These really do better with more frequent growing season prunings and avoid letting them elongate too much and keep & increase back branching in my opinion. Ships in a plastic nursery pot. You may want to grab it before it’s someone else’s? Thanks for Checking it out! I will be listing some other Bonsai before Christmas? The Cork on the plant usually appears after the plant has reached the ages of 5-8 years old. As seen in the photographs, this trees Cork appearance is well established and will become even more dramatic as it matures. This beautiful cascade Cork Jade looks like a very old tree because it is. Overall, the composition of this Jade is of. An aged tree that has weathered the winds and snow of many winters by clinging to the cliff face with its roots deeply embedded in the crevices of a rock. The sense of rearing vigorously in the face of natures onslaught is typical of a tree on a cliff; the way the trunk rises from its powerful roots then immediately surrenders to earths gravity, vividly conveys a sense of natures harshness and of the trees determination to survive. As with traditional bonsai, these specimens can become horticultural heirlooms that can be passed down from generation to generation. Complementing the impressive Cascade Cork trunk as well as the entire composition is a glazed olive-colored deep cascade ceramic bonsai pot (5x 7.5). On a side note. Mikawa, is actually a province in the Aichi Prefecture of Japan where Japanese Black Pines with very strong cork barked trunks grow. There are small areas within the Mikawa Regine, that grow strange offshoots of Black Pines and the Nishiki cork bark black pine is one of those rare offshoots.
