These were imported from Japan in January of this year. Federal AG laws require a 2 year quarantine before release. They are kept on location in a FED AG approved greenhouse behind locked doors. Up for sell is a beautiful and big twin trunk Japanese arakawa cork bark maple pre bonsai in Chinese glaze pot. It has a flat base since I spread the root out at the bottom when planted. The leaves get burn due to hot and dry California weather. You can trim it down and make a beautiful twin trunk shohin bonsai. Or transplant it to a biger pot to get a trunk bigger. You will get the same tree on the picture. The leaves will fall off during winter so don’t be surprised. BONSAI TREE OLD CHUHIN SAN JOSE JUNIPER with 2 TRUNK. Height: The height of the tree from the base to the tip of the apex is 12. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 2. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has many exposed Roots 4. Canopy: Widest part is 12 inches across. When it comes to working with bonsai trees, one of the things that I absolutely love is when I get an opportunity to take an old completed bonsai that was allowed to overgrow and bring it back two where it should be. This small, but rustic San Jose juniper (Juniperus Chinensis San Jose) looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the thickness of the trunk as well as the branch development, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. As previously mentioned the canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and re-wired. Because this tree is an old completed piece only the secondary and tertiary branches were wired as the primary branches are already set. What this means for its new owner is that this trees canopy will be a show ready very soon. The sinuous trunk is also very impressive due to the thickness and. Texture that is rarely found in a tree this small. Any consider the San Jose juniper to be one of the easiest junipers to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. Overall, the composition of this Juniper conveys a tree that has lived its entire life on an open prairie and it shows in its natural beauty. The pot that we chose to accompany this beautiful tree is equally pleasing. It is an old rectangular Japanese ceramic bonsai pot (9.5×7x3).
