BONSAI TREE RARE OLIVE in JAPANESE TOKONAME CLAY POT. Trunk (Base): Trunk spread is visible throughout entire base 5. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 15. Canopy: The canopy is well proportioned and measures 16 inches. The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven. This is an Old. Bonsai tree that is gorgeous and in excellent condition. The trees style is a strong mixture of a Kabudachi (Clump) and a Hokidachi (Broom). While creating this piece the Artist made it a point to utilize. An odd number of live trunks (7) that varied in size, but also made certain that all the trees grew from the same root system (stump). This harmonious method was achieved through a lot of patience and through the use of shoots that grew naturally from the base of the tree. The difference between an actual Kabudachi style tree and this tree is that in a Kabudachi bonsai each trunk will be an individual tree, but in the case of this tree all trunks work in concert to make one tree (canopy). Complementing the exquisite trunk as well as the entire composition is an unglazed square Japanese Tokoname bonsai pot (10x 4.5). Although most of the Japanese pottery bears an incision or mark made by the artist or craftsman, a few makers do not mark the item thereby making the pot itself their signature. Other than the old faded “JAPAN” sticker on the bottom of the pot, the piece itself is a “non-kamajirushi” which means non-marked.
