This is a 11 year old Kingsville Boxwood, grown from a cutting and planted on collected limestone. Sekijoju, Japanese for root over rock planting, its creation was greatly influenced by the Chinese Shanshui penjing landscapes. I have created only a hand full of these small landscapes. This is another that shows to have great potential and has vigorous new growth. Standing 6 3/4 tall, from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top, Its planted in an unglazed Japanese pot with identifying firing anomalys. It measures 4 3/4 x 3 3/4 and is 2 14 from the bottom of the pots feet to its lip edge. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree. As with all bonsai, the training never ends. This trees larger training wires have been removed. There are a few small wires in place. This tree has been wired and rewired over a 4 year period to achieve this styling effect. PLEASE NOTE: After March 2019 repotting, this trees value is due to increase accordingly.
