Musk Maple, Japanese Neem tree, Premna Micrphylla. This remarkable scented tree is grown from four individual cuttings and wire trained to this classic s shape. This tree is now set to become a beauty. As an extremely fast growing material, this Musk Maple is now set with foliage clouds, so only just basic trim training is required, unless of course you wish to restyle. It stands 11 tall, from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top. This tree shows great vigorous spring growth and was repotted this spring. The initial styling and wire training is crustal in a good beginning for these Musk Maples. This one shows great potential for its future. Its planted in a beautiful, high fired cream, crackle glazed, new old stock Japanese pot. It measures 6 3/8 x 4 7/8 and is 2 tall from the pots lip to the base of its feet. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree. This tree has been recently trimmed and its training wires have been removed. First 2 photos taken 6/5/19. Flushed out and trimmed. Musk Maple, Japanese Neem tree, Premna Micrphylla. This remarkable scented tree is grown from three individual cuttings and wire trained to this shape. Its fantastic exposed surface roots are intertwined to form one root mass. It stands 15 tall, from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top. This tree shows great vigorous spring growth and was repotted this spring. The initial styling and wire training is crustal in a good beginning for these Musk Maples. This one shows great potential for its future. Its planted in a beautiful, high fired glazed pot. The pots has very fine quality details and measures approximately 7 3/4 x 6 3/4 and its sides range between 1 1/2 and 3 from the pots lip to the base of its feet. This is one of several pots Im offering from the South America artist, Rovea. All are each quite unique and lend themselves to complement this type of planting arrangement and are height fired. This Root Exposed Musk Maple, Premna microphylla, commonly known as Japanese musk maple or Japanese neem tree, is 9 years from a cutting. This tree has been wire trained to develop the curving and intertwined branching and currently has a few training wires in place. It has just been trimmed for the 3 time this growing season and is a fast grower. The exposed roots were developed by gradually exposing a half inch or so each year. It now stands 14 Tall from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top. Its planted in a round Japanese blue glazed pot that measures 8 in diameter and stands 3 1/8 from the pots lip to the bottom of its feet. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree. This tree has been repotted this spring and has organic fertilizer on the soils surface. Musk Maple, Premna microphylla, commonly known as Japanese musk maple or Japanese neem tree, is a perennial shrub or small tree that typically grows in the wild to 10 tall and as wide. It is native to forested areas on mountain slopes in southcentral to southeastern China and Taiwan. Small flowers in conical panicles bloom in late spring to early summer. Calyx is green and slightly purplish, cup-shaped, and densely pubescent to subglabrous. Globose to obovate dark purple fruit (berry-like drupes) matures in late summer to early fall. Leaves are opposite, ovate-lanceolate, elliptic, ovate or obovate (to 5 long) with entire or lobed to sometimes serulate margins.
