It was his pride and joy and would show it every year in the american bonsai club here in sacramento ca. It is one of the best shown mame trident japanese trident maple I have ever seen, in shape and curvature of the trunk , it truly takes my breath away every time i see it. I have owned it for 8 years and have enjoyed working on it and viewing it. As can be seen the structure is amazing and ramification, achieved from decades of wiring, pinching and trimming. It with out a doubt has the best structure I have ever seen, just amazing. Every time I see it it reminds me a native oak here in Sacramento that I would pass in my car every day one the way to work. It is the same tree I would picknick with my wife with along hy49 and is the place I purposed to her. I know the new owner will get the same gratification out of this prize tree that I have. Bonsai Japanese Trident maple shohin mame show ready 15yrs. This little gem is in a stamped blue tokoname pot that is, 7×5.5 inches by 2inch hight. It is just fantastic blueish turquoise pot. The tree is 8 inches from the soil line and is 6 inches wide. It has a massive massive trunk that is 3 at the soil line, see photos has just amazing structure ad ramification to it. I have started this little gem from seed 15 years ago and have enjoyed working on it and viewing it. As can be seen the structure is very nice , achieve from decades of wiring, pinching and trimming. It also has the just amazing colors in the falll ranging from light yellow, dark yellow, deep reds, just very elegant. Since it was started by seed it has genetic variability , each tree from seed can be slightly different. This tree has some of the smallest leafs I have ever seen on a trident. It has been repotted, trimmed pinched backh and fertilized at all of the apropiate times. I know the new owner will get the same gratification out of this prize tree that I have.
