BONSAI TREE CORK BARK ELM in JAPANESE CLAY POT. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 12. Canopy: The canopy is well proportioned and measures 11 wide. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 1.5 thick. This gnarly little Cork Bark Elm is a perfect tree for the beginner as well as the advanced collector. For a tree that is only twelve inches tall this little giant shows a lot of seasoned character in the trunk that only time can provide. Along with the outstanding curvy cork trunk, the tree is also blessed with all the right ingredients to become a specimen some day soon. A few of the trees attributes are great taper, excellent branch placement, an awesome curvy trunk, developing ramification of the foliage, and a deep cork bark that shows the trees age. The Cork Elm also has the unique ability among bonsai trees to thrive either indoors or outdoors, although it will drop some of its leaves in either situation since it is a deciduous tree. A Great tree deserves a great pot. Complementing the impressive cork bark trunk as well as the entire composition is a rarely seen deep glazed blue pot with large lips (7.5×6x3). The beautiful ceramic container was imported from Japan. Although the pot does not show a strong chop mark, we believe that the pot was produced in the Tokoname region of Japan based on the clay color and workmanship. The expertly designed pot has a deep blue glaze and is inundated with a fine patina throughout the pots surface. It takes many years of use for a glazed pot to develop genuine patina so we know that this pot is old. On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message.
