Bonsai Japanese Maple Cork BARK great movement 27years shohin mame. It is in a stamped tokonme pot, (see photos) the pot is 6×9 inches by 3 inches tall. The tree is 9 inches tall from the soil line, and is 7.25 inches wide. It has a 4+ inch trunk at the soil line with great movement. I started this little gem off of my mother tree from seed back in 2002. I have never seen a coral bark maple like this one. It buds out with new growth that is red around the edges, and in fall it turns a beautiful orangish yellow. Plus its outstanding leaf pattern shape. I have never had a quark bark like this one. Look a photos of trunk how the barking is running with crack in vertical lines. Since it was started from seed, I get genetic variations in my trees. No one seedling is ever the same making it one of a kind. It has been wired, pinched back, trimmed, fertilized and repotted at the appropriate times and is very healthy.
