Shohin rectangle by one of the top three Japanese bonsai potters of the 20th century, Heian Kouzan. A highly sought-after pre-war white clay example with the ruri-y lapis lazuli glaze he is best known for. Kouzan, whose real name was Koike Kazuo, was born in Seto in 1905 and passed in 1990. He is often referred to as kamisori Kouzan or the razor since his lines are so clean and precise. Despite being handmade there is absolutely no distortion or warpage.
