The tree is10 inches from the soil line and is 12 inches wide. It has a massive trunk of 6 inches at soil line, also shows the very strong formation of secondary limbs see photos. This guy is the best one of the best Japanese black pine that I ever seen. The movement of the trunk is just amazing. I Baught it 20 years ago from sensee Jhony Uchida is Hayward ca. As seen in photos the structure of this tree is breath taking. It has always held a special spot in my heart because my daughter has always helped me to work with the very fine bonsai. It has been repotted, decandled, pinched backh and fertilized at all of the apropiate times. I know the new owner will get the same gratification out of this prize tree that I have. I have owned it for 8 years and have enjoyed working on it and viewing it. As can be seen the structure is amazing and ramification, achieved from decades of wiring, pinching and trimming. It also has the just amazing colors in the falll ranging from light yellow, dark yellow, deep reds, just very elegant. This fine bonsai also has very small leafs to it. It has been repotted, trimmed pinched backh and fertilized at all of the apropiate times. It with out a doubt has the best structure I have ever seen, just meticulous. Every time I see it it reminds me a native oak here in Sacramento that I would pass in my car every day one the way to work.
