Grafted 10 Year Dwarf Japanese Maple Kuro Himi Bonsai Starter Plant

Grafted 10 Year Dwarf Japanese Maple Kuro Himi Bonsai Starter Plant

This healthy 10 year old dwarf Japanese Maple Kuro Himi measures 16 x 9 x 7 inches with a one inch wide trunk. This tree does not include the pot. The word bonsai simply means a tree or shrub grown in a pot that is prevented from reaching it’s full size by pruning, shaping with wire, etc. To a desired shape. Many people have a perception of what they believe to be a “Bonsai”. What looks like a bonsai is simply subjective (up to the person viewing the plant). A bonsai is actually never finished because they continue to grow. When the plant reaches the point that it is a bonsai is up to the one viewing it. I consider all of the plants I sell as “bonsai” are in the category from beginning (starter plants) to mature and everything in between. Please note that the color of the leaves of Japanese Maples vary from season to season and because of environmental conditions sunlight, etc. The colors from spring to summer and fall may change considerably. The colors of the leaves may look different than the photos when you receive them because of these changes. I suggest that you search the internet for the specifics of the varieties I sell so there won’t be any surprises for you. Please use the photos as your guide to what you will receive. !!!!! Canopy: The canopy is well proportioned and measures 23 wide. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 5 inches. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree shows many exposed Roots 8. Many of the trees that we sell are still a work in progress, but this Masterpiece Japanese White Pine is a completed tree that is now show ready. The tree has never been shown anywhere else until today. This tree represents some of the best material that we have to offer. Many of our specimen trees are long time projects that rarely go to market because we are not only Bonsai dealers, but more importantly collectors of fine bonsai. Nevertheless, the masterpiece bonsai trees that do eventually sell were started by the original first generation Japanese American bonsai masters that Ive studied under here in the west coast. This tree in particular was created and worked on several times over the past years by Japanese Bonsai masters to bring to fruition. Many have referred to the Japanese White Pine (Pinus Parviflora) as the Queen of Bonsai, but this tree looks more like a King with its thick and powerful corked trunk. The reason for the dramatic thick trunk is due to the fact that this Japanese White Pine or. Meaning five-needle pine, was grafted to the base of a Japanese Mikawa Black pine. In Japan these grafted trees are referred to as. And are considered Bonsai treasures. The primary reason why we graft White pine to Japanese Black pine is due to the fact that the JBP have a much stronger root system than your typical White Pine and it provides a more stable root structure for growing JWP in more hot, humid regions. It also allows the tree to live a lot longer, making it a treasure of a lifetime. We also get a very dramatic fissured cork trunk with the Mikawa Black pine that is never seen on a White Pine. Furthermore, with a Mikawa black pine the grafted areas will blend so well that you will no longer see where the graft took place. Nevertheless, the tree should go to an area that gets cold winters because the foliage still requires a dormant period. F you like the pictures than I guarantee that you will love this beautiful bonsai. Because of its rarity and because it is. A masterpiece this tree is a must have for any collection. A well-shaped canopy with excellent branching, a massive trunk, and a super flaky bark that shows the trees age are just a few of attributes this bonsai provides. Complementing the impressive trunk as well as the entire composition is a very fine. Japanese’Tokoname’ ceramic bonsai pot (16.5×12.5×5). Although most of the Japanese pottery bears an incision or mark made by the artist or craftsman, a few makers do not mark the item thereby making the pot itself their signature. Other than the old “Japan” sticker on the bottom of the pot, the piece itself is a “non-kamajirushi” which means non-marked.
