11 year old Kingsville Boxwood Sekijoju (root over rock) Saikei (planted landscape) bonsai. Grown from a special cutting, this boxwood is planted on and with a group of three collected stones. The stones have detailed veins of quarts running throughout, with tons of exquisite, tiny details. The trees roots have been trained, to grow over the stone for a period of 4 years. The mosses have also grown into the stones crevices. In the creation of this piece, I was inspired by Chinese Shanshui penjing landscapes. This landscape was just repotted in February 2020. It stands just 6 1/2 tall, from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top and is planted in an vintage Japanese oval, white crackle glazed pot with five drainage holes. It measures 11 x 7 and is 1 3/8 from the bottom of the pots feet to its lip edge. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree. It was just repotted in February 2020. It currently shows some normal winter bronzing in its leaves. THIS LISTING IS FOR THE EXACT ITEM PICTURED.
