It’s a nice and very old Japanese Apricot Prunus Mume bonsai tree. Estimate around more than 50 years old tree. It’s a very healthy tree and pushed out flowers in the last two months. Big and massive trunk has a lot characteristics and ready to ramify to a super nice tree. This tree has a lot of branches for future ramification. Tree is real nice in person. This is a rare pink flowering. Ume well over 65 years old that flowers very strong in late winter early spring, 14″ high, 11 inches wide, with a massive 7″ inch trunk. It is in a 14 plastic pot, but is ready for a nice bonsai pot. I had it in a very nice tusumi custom pot, but my dog knocked it off the bonsai shelf 2 years ago and I have been searching for the appropriate pot for it. It has been pruned, pinched back, wired, fertilized ect at the appropriate times. It was my fathers tree that he brought back when he was in the armed forces. He owned it for over 45 years, winning best of show 2 times in three of the bonsai clubs local to Sacramento, Sacramento bonsai, American bonsai, and bonsai siukikai. This beautiful tree was one of his most prized trees. He left it to me along with entire collection. I have had the tree for 9 years and had hoped to leave it to my daughter someday. I feel confident that the new owner will get the same gratification from this tree that my father and I have. A beautiful OLD bark PRUNUS MUME bonsai. It is one of a kind Apricot from my collection. It has a huge, giant and excellent trunk. It has a lot of branches to develop into a master piece. The trunk has a lot of characteristics. The tree looks much better in person. You won’t be able to find one more often. Please check back for more tree. I just repotted with new soil but didn’t cut root, so the tree is still in good shape if you want to cut root at later dates or next season. It’s final sale and no return. Japanese Flowering Apricot Prunus Mume Ume Pre Bonsai Specimen Tree


Also know as Prunus mume, or Ume, Japanese Flowering Apricot are posed to be the next must have tree in the West after being a mainstay popular tree for Bonsai in the East for thousands of years, I guess were starting to catch on- haha, Ume are awesome trees for Bonsai because they develop oak-like bark at a relatively young age, display wonderful scented flowers in the middle to late winter, and have attractive ovate foliage, This tree was grown in a pot for a couple years after being started as a seedling were it stayed in shallow soil to develop a shallow root spread, then it was field grown for an additional 4 years to develop the beginnings of a decent trunk. This one is 4-1/2 ” in (circumference) and is 17″ tall with a canopy width of 9 Will make for a nice Patio tree or Specimen bonsai with a little training and patience..
