This Pot was made by the yamaaki kiln. A now cold kiln that made great wares for the Bonsai beginner to professional. They coined style with the old stamps on the sides of the pot. Its a very unique style. This style is also done with the crackly type clay style they started. So its a hybrid type pot. Please note this pot has some repairs on it. Well done ones, not sure if it was the kiln or someone after. Please see all pics closely. The price has been adjusted because of it. Both the founder and his son made these. They are always marked 1st or 2nd generation. Please see all pictures closely and look for me pointing out any chips that may be on the pot. These are old pots and used for decades so they usually have some small chips. Pot size, in inches. Kingsville Boxwood Buxus Microphylla Compacta Bonsai. This Bonsai has superior exposed surface roots and great taper. It is 15 years old and was grown from a select Kingsville Boxwood cutting. It stands 12 1/2 tall, from the bottom of the pots feet to the trees top. Its planted in a blue/green, glazed Japanese pot. There is an identifying, glazing, anomaly on the pots front lip, edge. The pots measures 7″ x 5 1/2″ and 2 1/8 from the pots lip to the base of its feet. The pot stamped “JAPAN” on the underside. I have tended this tree from its beginnings, as a cutting from its parent tree. As with all bonsai, this tree is in continual training and has training wires in place. I love these old Yamaaki pots. Made by the founder, whose been long deceased, he was very inventive in his pottery designs by using these antique japanese coin stamps.
