Bonsai Japanese trident maple shohin mame root over rock 37yrs old. This little gem is in an old stamped tokoname pot that is, 9×7.5 inches by 3.25–inch hight. It is just fantastic. The tree is 9 inches from the soil line and is 9 inches wide. It has a massive trunk with root over rock that is 7.5 inches, see photos has just amazing structure ad ramification to it. It was my fathers pride and joy and would show it every year in the american bonsai club here in sacramento ca. He won several awards over the years ranging from best show in mame shohin class to members choice. It is one of the best shown mame root over rock japanese trident maples I have ever seen, it truly takes my breath away every time i see it. I have owned it for 15years and have enjoyed working on it and viewing it. As can be seen the structure is amazing , achieve from decades of wiring, pinching and trimming. It also has the just amazing colors in the falll ranging from light yellow, to dark yellow, just very elegant. The rock is of the red river valley Japan, it is a piece of limestone, and rocks can no longer be taken from there, making it rare. It has been repotted, trimmed pinched backh and fertilized at all of the apropiate times. I know the new owner will get the same gratification out of this prize tree that I have.
