BONSAI TREE OLD COLLECTED OLIVE with 6 inch Trunk in CLAY POT. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 11. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 6 inches. Nebari (Root Spread): The trees base is 9 across. Canopy: 13 across at the lowest branches. Age: Approx 40 years old. Has been in training for many years, but recently wired and shaped. The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven. By nature, trees with big trunks have always given an impression of age and with the timeless history of the Olive, the trees composition adds to an already impressive bonsai. The Olive tree has always been regarded as a symbol of life and peace. There is a majestic beauty in this small tree that the viewer can admire for hours. The resilient ability of the Olive is also one of the many reasons why I love this species of plant. The tree is believed to live beyond 2000 years. The Olives from the Garden of Gethsemane are actually still alive today. This tree in particular is a 40 year old small leaf Olive (olea europaea) tree that is gorgeous and in excellent condition. While creating this piece we decided to make both the canopy and the dramatic thick old trunk the center point of the composition. This tree was collected many years ago and after being collected it was allowed to recuperate and grow out for a few years. The tree was then styled and re-worked several times over to bring it to its present shape. To fine tune the canopy a bit further t. He tree was re-wired and shaped and all that is needed to get the perfect canopy is to allow the branches to grow out and continue developing the tertiary branches. The olive tree is surely the richest gift of Heaven. Those that know me know that I have a passion for Bonsai and along with bonsai I also have a passion for collecting trees from the wild. Living here in Southern California and only minutes away from where old California Juniper grow wild is indeed a blessing and a unique place to live to feed that passion. Nevertheless, I have found that not all masterpiece material is confined to the Mojave Desert or the. Some trees like this Old Olive can actually be found growing in rural areas if one looks (works) hard enough to find them. In this case, this Olive was found growing in an old. Community of Olive groves (Santa Clarita). The gorgeous tree is an Olive. That produces fruit and is in excellent condition. The tree was collected over twelve years ago and after being collected it was allowed to recuperate and grow out for a few years. The tree was then styled and re-worked several times over to bring it to its present shape. While creating this piece we decided to make the thick base the center point of the composition, but the. The Olive tree has always been regarded as a symbol of life and peace. There is a majestic beauty in this tree that the viewer can admire for hours. The tree actually has several good fronts, but we decided to use the side that showcased the thickest portion of the trunk. Trees were collected December of 2010. 6 seasons of growing new tops and branches. These get real twiggy real fast making tiny leaves. Grove was assembled January of 2014. Strong trees ready for someone to make it their own. Nice branching and great bark with wonderful seasonal color. Specimen Yamadori Engelmann Spruce Bonsai Tree Collected! 80 Years Old

Trunk Diameter: 3 at widest point. Nebari (basal flare) : 8. Pot: SIGNED Jim Gremel Namban – unglazed. Truly a hard to find species, and a very beautiful one at that! I love Engelmann Spruce almost as much as I love Redwoods. They have a peaceful feeling to them, very delicate foliage, aged bark, great movement… They are the American equivalent of Ezo Spruce from Japan. This tree was originally collected by Randy Knight of Oregon 3 years ago, styled by me 2 years ago, and potted in this amazing Jim Gremel pot 2 years ago in a Japanese Pre-mix soil. This tree is just budding out and starting to drop its old needles, creating a very pretty contrast of greens. It is completely wired and styled, and should make an incredible addition to someone’s collection! As always, feel free to ask any questions you may have. I have a new batch of redwoods, grapes, and yamadori spruce I’m working on. Keep an eye out! I do still have many artist made display stands, turntables, pots, as well as some antique Japanese pots, just ask! Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 3 inches. USDA Hardiness Zones: 8A through 11. I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree! This big collected Duranta repens Alba (White Sky Flower) is a unique tree that is normally found in the sub-tropical areas of North and South America. Because of the trees fragrant white flowers and distinct fruit it will also attract butterflies as well as birds, but specially the Hummingbird. The full clusters of fragrant, white flowers attract butterflies in summer and are followed by bunches of golden-orange berries, which are popular with birds. Flowers and fruit are often found on the plant simultaneously and make an attractive show. It is also an easy to care for thorn-less tree that makes a wonderful specimen and is an absolute must for any tropical bonsai collector. Complementing the dramatic thick trunk as well as the entire composition is a very fine oval bonsai pot (16×13x5). Available upon request with an additional charge.
