Specimen Bonsai Tree Collected Rocky Mountain Juniper Finished Tree

Old Yamadori Rocky Mountain juniper with really interesting trunk features. A heavy but supported lean. Spiraling live vein works really well with the deadwood through out. Some new deadwood being created in the back all you have to do is snip the wires in a few months. Tree is very healthy but could use a repotting however I would wait until the following year as work was done this year to style it. The tree stands 19 tall and is about 30 wide and 17 deep. The trunk is about 2 diameter with a 8 nebari that splits into two separate pieces before rejoining and going into the ground. The pot is a 12×8 diamond cloud and has cracks. If you contact me directly I will give you tips and work with you to keep the tree healthy and work with you in the event things go in any way negatively. Complementing the massive and old Sumo trunk as well as the entire composition is a shallow glazed blue rectangular ceramic bonsai pot. Old yamadori Rocky Mountain juniper. Unsure of its age but you can tell its been through a lot. Really cool twisting deadwood contrasting live veins that will really pop with some cleaning up. Foliage has been pruned correctly for some years and is well ramified. Its about 28 wide and 20 tall. The trunk is about 2.5 above the flare and you can see how it runs along the soil top making a very interesting and large nebari. I began wiring it but dont have the time so its ready for someone who wants to make a beautiful tree. The pot is just generic and was used because it fit. S hipping is negotiable. BONSAI TREE COLLECTED SIERRA JUNIPER. Yamadori (Collected in the Mountains). Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 15. Canopy: The canopy is well proportioned and measures 16 wide. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia. Is approximately 3 inches. Age: The tree is approx 100-150 years old. This beautiful specimen was collected over eight years ago in Northern California. Throughout the years of collecting trees I have found that there are basically three types of Junipers one can collect- little young trees, big old trees and small, but old trees. The little old trees are the rarest and the hardest to find for bonsai. The reason the Sierra juniper is so coveted is partly due to the spectacular deadwood that the tree can show. However, in order for a tree to acquire that beautiful natural deadwood can only happen through time. One of the major problems with a tree showing good deadwood is that it normally comes in a big size tree because of the time requirement. In this case you see a tree that has amazing deadwood, but is smaller than most trees at this stage. In my opinion that makes this tree even more valuable than a bigger tree. The Sierra juniper, which the Japanese refer to as American Shimpaku, has amazing bluish/green foliage that is a pleasure to work with. Along with the beautiful canopy the tree also shows the beautiful artwork that Mother Nature created with a little help from this writer. Nevertheless, much of the deadwood was created by the harsh environment that is found in the Northern California mountains and time. Another beautiful trait of the Sierra Juniper is the spectacular burgundy color the live trunk shows when the bark is peeled off and cleaned, but we decide to leave the bark in place to not disturb any of the cambium flow. Complementing the thick the trunk as well as the entire composition is a round Mica bonsai training pot (15×6). The tree can easily fit into a smaller pot, but we decided to put it into a deeper pot to encourage a stronger root growth that will facilitate in developing a fuller canopy. The tree was last repotted two years ago so can be repotted this coming Spring if you wish or can stay in the existing pot for another year or two. On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. Collected Sugar Maple Bonsai Yamadori

Sugar Maple Bonsai collected in Ohio approximately 10 years ago. The hardness of the wood gives it the alternative common name of Rock Maple. The tree is 39 inches long by 31 inches wide and 29 inches tall. Growing in a plastic pot that is 20 inches long, 16 inches wide and 5 inches tall. The stump of an old 2nd trunk is hollow. The bottom part of the main trunk is also hollow. The nebari is 9 inches across. Pink leaves emerge in the spring and turn green. In the fall, the leaves turn various shades of yellow and orange. The sugar maple is one of Americas best-loved trees. Its planted commercially for maple syrup and for lumber. It is valued for its hard, dense wood, which is used for floors, furniture and musical instruments. Native Americans invented the process of maple sap collection and its distillation into maple sugar and maple syrup. The sugar maple grows to a height of 80 feet and 40 feet wide. Sugar maples can be grown in USDA agricultural zones 3-8. Please check out my other auctions! The item “Collected Sugar Maple Bonsai Yamadori” is in sale since Tuesday, May 29, 2018.
