This pot is made by the legendary Heian Tofukuji. Its a piece I picked up from the famous Yorozu en, the old Shohin nursery that specializes in fine pots and trees. The most trusted source in Japan To get high quality and authentic old pots. This piece was part of the famous Tagaki collection, a famous collector of trees and pots. He labeled all his pots in either silver or gold. Gold meaning they were a step above. Tofukuji died in 1970 and is the only man that a single book on bonsai pots was ever made about. He made his pots in other peoples kilns as he was to poor to own his own kiln. Using the leftovers of other peoples kilns, his pots are vast and varied when it comes to glaze and style.
