I have owned it for 17 years and before that it belonged to my father who brought it back from Japan in the 70’s, when he was in service. It is in a stamped tokoname pot that is 12×9.5 inches by 5 inches hight. It stands 17 high and 15inches wide. It has just a massive trunk with root at the soil line that is 4 wide. I have showed it twice and took members choice award on it and honorable mention. My father has shown this tree as well, in all three clubs here in Sacramento, American bonsai club, bonsai siakuki, and the Sacramento bonsai club. I do not have an exact age on it, but my father was told it was 80 years plus when he brought it back from Japan, so it is now well over 100 + years old. It has been wired, fertilized, repotted, and decandled all at appropriate times. Bonsai Japanese shimpaku juniper shohin mame show ready 31yrs EXTRORDINARY TREE A++++. This little gem is in a plastic bonsai training pot that is, 8×6 inches by 3 inch hight. The tree is 9 inches from the soil line and is 10 inches wide. It has a massive trunk of 1.5 inches at soil line, also shows the very strong formation of secondary limbs see photos. This guy is the best one of the Japanese shimpaku junipers that I have grown. The movement of the trunk is just amazing. It has always held a special spot in my heart because my daughter has always helped me to work with the very fine bonsai. It has been repotted, wired, pinched backh and fertilized at all of the apropiate times. I know the new owner will get the same gratification out of this prize tree that I have. Bonsai Japanese Trident maple massive trunk show ready. It is in a old stamped brown tokoname pot, that is, 10×8 inches by 3 inches tall. The tree is 16″ tall from the soil line, it is 15″ wide, it has a massive trunk (see photos) that is 3.5 in diameter. This tree was brought back from Japan by my father when he served this country. He passed the tree on to me but. My father won several show in all three Sacramento cubs, bonsai siekuki, American bonsai , and Sacramento bonsai clubs, ranging from best of show to people’s choice.
