BONSAI TREE LITERATI (BUNJIN) STYLE PROSTRATA JUNIPER in'YIXING' CLAY POT

BONSAI TREE LITERATI (BUNJIN) STYLE PROSTRATA JUNIPER. We realize that the winter is impacting many parts of the U. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 27. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, at base is approximately 1.5. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree shows many exposed Roots 4. A literati style tree is something different from other bonsai trees that typically represent a tree style in nature. Literati is more complex, symbolic, and very strong in elegant movement and hopefully aesthetically pleasing. There is little doubt that it is one of the most fascinating of all styles and also one of the hardest to successfully create. Hanging in the realm between nature and vision, realism and impressionism, dream and reality, literati captures our imagination and in doing so, encompasses all that bonsai is and was meant to be. Along with our love for Bonsai one thing that Japanese Bonsai Master Kunio Kobayashi and this writer have in common is that of all the bonsai styles, the Bunjin (Literart) style is our favorite. Despite the fact that the tree was recently cleaned and wired the tree shows an inner peace and earned stillness that only time and nature can provide. The orange colored tape that is visible in the apex area is a self-fusing elastic tape that helps protect the branch while bending. Complementing the impressive and elegant trunk as well as the entire composition is a shallow round Yixing ceramic bonsai pot (11×2.5). BONSAI TREE PROSTRATA JUNIPER with DEADWOOD in JAPANESE POT. Height: The height of the tree from the apex to the tip of lowest branch is 10. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 1.25. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has many exposed Roots 3. Canopy: Widest part is 11 inches across. Although this Prostrata juniper (Juniperus chinensis Prostrata) stands only ten inches tall, it exemplifies what bonsai is all about. This wonderful bonsai looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the rustic trunk as well as the deadwood, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. The canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and wired and will fill in nicely, but the trunk and deadwood are the part of the tree that is the most impressive. The reason I claim this is due in part to the strong natural appearance of the deadwood which is rarely found in a tree this small. The intricate beauty of the Shari and Jin work well with the contrasting colors of the live portion of the trunk. Any consider the Prostrata juniper to be one of the friendliest trees to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. Overall, the composition of this Juniper conveys a tree that has withstood the test of time and it shows in its natural beauty. The pot that we chose to accompany this beautiful tree is equally pleasing. It is an oval Japanese Tokoname production unglazed ceramic bonsai pot that works well with the rustic appearance of the deadwood (9×7x2). Bonsai Tree by Three Masters Prostrata Juniper in Tokoname pot

Bonsai Tree by Three Masters Prostrata Juniper in Tokoname pot

Bonsai Tree by Three Masters Prostrata Juniper in Tokoname pot. More photographs will be added soon. We realize that the summer heat is affecting many parts of the U. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 26. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 3.5. Canopy: Widest part of canopy is 30 across. Nebari: Root flare is 9 across. This tree was initially designed by Bonsai Master Ryan Neil many years ago, but my Sensei Roy Nagatoshi and friend Mauro Stemberger of Italy also played a big part in the trees journey. With the artistic sense of balance and the feeling of harmony that Ryan Neil, Roy Nagatoshi, and Mauro Stemberger can bring out in the trees they work with, it is very difficult not to love the art of bonsai. Many of the trees that I sell are still a work in progress, but this old collected Prostrata Juniper is a completed tree that is also show ready. It has never been shown anywhere else until today. The tree represents some of the best material that I have to offer. As was previously mentioned, the initial design of the tree was done several years ago by Ryan Neil and then allowed to grow out. After acquiring the tree from a friend, I showed the tree to Roy Nagagtoshi who suggested that we add a harder bend of the lowest branch, which he did as well as cut the branches back for a tighter look. The tree was allowed to recuperate after Roys work and was set aside and allow it to grow out for a few more years. When Mauro saw the tree for the first time he decided to work his Magic on the trunk and add the shari and deadwood that is visible throughout the tree. The final re-styling as well as the added Shari was created by Mauro in February of 2015. Considering the fact that the tree stands only 26 inches tall, the character that the trunk as well as the tree shows is very dramatic. In short, I believe that this beautiful and dramatic juniper exemplifies what bonsai should represent. It is a silent poem and a three dimensional drawing of the awesome beauty that we see in nature and which adds serenity to our daily lives. The pot that we chose to use for this beautiful tree is equally impressive. It is an old round Japanese Tokoname ceramic bonsai pot with a beautiful base (16×7). Bonsai Tree Kenji Miyata Prostrata Juniper Masterpiece! Last One

Last tree from the Miyata-san. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 13.5. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 2. Nebari (Root spread): The root spread is generous 5. Japanese Ceramic Pot: The dark brown unglazed ceramic container measure 11×8x4. This Prostrata Juniper, which is trained in an Informal Upright style, was created by Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata. When designing a bonsai one of the things that Mr. Miyata always seems to accomplish is to tell a story with the tree that he is creating. A successful bonsai tree must be more than just a plant in a pot. The tree should always generate some kind of emotion for it to be a successful composition. In the case of creating this tree, Miyata-san stayed close to his strong yet traditional Japanese bonsai technique. Miyata-san has been quoted as saying that classic Japanese bonsai trees of the highest quality are triangular and have branches that flow fluidly. In order to create this tree everything that was not necessary was removed. Despite this bonsai tree being a Kenji Miyata creation, the trees foliage was very over grown so some work needed to be done on the old canopy. When it comes to working with bonsai trees, one of the things that I absolutely love is when I get an opportunity to take an old completed bonsai that has been allowed to overgrow and bring it back to where it should be. This rustic Prostrata juniper (Juniperus Chinensis Prostrata) looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the thickness of the trunk as well as the aged round canopy, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. As previously mentioned the canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and re-wired. Because this tree was restyled from a strong Hokidachi (broom) style to a more balanced looking tree many of the secondary and tertiary branches needed to be re-wired, but the primary branches being already set did not require wiring. What this means for its new owner is, this trees canopy will be a show ready very soon. The sinuous trunk is also very impressive due to the thickness and. Texture that is rarely found in a tree this small. Any consider the Prostrata juniper to be one of the easiest junipers to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. Overall, the composition of this Juniper conveys a tree that has lived its entire life on an open prairie and it shows in its natural beauty. Short history of Kenji Miyata. Bonsai Master Kenji Miyata is from. In Toyohashi, a town in Aichi prefecture, Japan. Before being certified as a Bonsai Master by the Japan Bonsai Association, Mr. Miyata began his bonsai journey as a 15 year old bonsai apprentice at Daiju-en and Tokai-en bonsai nurseries. Daiju-en has produced some of Japan’s best bonsai growers including Japan’s grand bonsai master Toshinori Suzuki. After six years of gaining sufficient knowledge and developing his own skills, Miyata-san became a bonsai master at the young age of 21. In 1977 he started his own bonsai business, the Miyata-en Bonsai Garden, where he maintained and cared for numerous private collections of prestigious and highly valued trees that have been displayed at the. Kokufu-ten in Kyoto, Japan. Miyata-san has also won awards at three consecutive Sakufu-ten (professional) bonsai contests (1999, 2000 and 2001). The contest features the works of the best bonsai growers in Japan. Miyata’s style is sought out because he. Is known for creating masterpiece bonsai. Is also considered a classic Japanese bonsai traditionalist, using centuries-old techniques that emphasize symmetry and balance. This is your opportunity to own a Kenji Miyata bonsai, one of the world’s foremost authorities on bonsai creation and styling. The item “BONSAI TREE KENJI MIYATA PROSTRATA JUNIPER MASTERPIECE! BONSAI TREE TWISTED TRUNK JUNIPER for ZEN GARDEN. Height: Tree height from the soil line to the top of the apex is 18. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 2.5 inchs. Canopy: The canopy spread is 19 wide. For years now, the Japanese have referred to this style of bonsai as a cross between Bankan style and Shakan style. As the Japanese name bankan implies it is not only a twisted trunk, but it also borders on being a slanting cascade style tree. In the Art of Bonsai, the twisted trunk style has always been a very difficult style to master due to its chaotic sense of direction. In this case, what was necessary to avoid that problem was to make certain that the canopy worked in concert with the trunk and branches. If this tree was to be a future masterpiece, it was essential to incorporate classic bonsai techniques into a free spirited and radical trunk. On that note, although the canopy on this Prostrata Juniper is well proportioned and beautiful, the one item that really makes this tree standout is its shapely trunk. Therefore, to highlight that shapely trunk what we decided to do was to cut off anything that took away from it while at the same time maintaining a beautiful canopy. I believe that the end result can be conveyed in one word, Harmony! You be the judge! Complementing the sinuous trunk as well as the entire tree is a round bonsai training pot (Not clay). On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. Secondly give the tree a good watering and then put the tree in a partially shaded spot for a few days to allow it to adjust. After several days of adjustment your new bonsai can be reintroduced to bright sun. Good luck and if you have any questions feel free to fire off a message. BONSAI TREE OLD PROSTRATA JUNIPER with 3.5 TRUNK. Height: The height of the tree from the soil line to the top of the apex is 20. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia, is approximately 3.5 inches. Most of the bonsai trees that I sell and have a great potential are trees that were started by the original first generation Japanese American bonsai masters that Ive studied under here in the west coast. This tree in particular has been worked on several times over the past years by experienced bonsai masters to bring it were it is now. This Prostrata juniper (Juniperus Chinensis) was not collected, but has lived its entire life as bonsai. The tree was first styled about thirty years ago, but only the shaping of the sinuous trunk and development of the primary branches was done. When I first saw the tree, about twelve years ago, I knew that it had great potential and so did my friend and Bonsai Artist Mauro Stemberger of Italy who did the second styling of the canopy. The first initial styling was done by another friend and bonsai artist by the name of Mel Ikeda who lives here in Southern California. One of the most important factors in creating a high quality bonsai is that you must first start with a tree that has great potential. Secondly, the person that is designing the tree must know what they are doing, because Masterpiece bonsai trees do not happen by accident. The proportions on this Prostrata juniper are very attractive; in fact, I would say that they are ideal! Nevertheless, when Mauro first saw the tree he knew that the height as well as the canopy needed desperate work. The first thing that Mauro did was remove the existing canopy that also helped shorten the height of the tree by over a foot. After removing the canopy, Mauro decided to covert an existing old branch into the new apex via the use of a makeshift leverage bar (stick) and guy wire. Although this bonsai is still a work in progress, the trees structure which is the most important part is now in place and it shows in the trees pleasing disposition. To complete the tree all that is needed is the continued development of the secondary and tertiary branches. Adding to the synergy of the powerful trunk as well as the entire composition is an old rectangular Japanese ceramic Bonsai pot that is also big (16.5x 12x 5). Thank you and have a great day! On a side note. Ive noticed that not too many sellers talk or write about things that should be done after you receive your tree so I will give you my two cents worth. When you receive your tree unpack it carefully. Cut the tape and plastic wrap from the pot and the branches if applicable. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the thickness of the old trunk as well as the deadwood, which is clearly the focal point of the tree. The reason I claim this is due in part to the deadwood of the old thick trunk that is rarely found in a cascade this small. The canopy which has been recently cleaned adds a vital synergy to the arrangement and helps make this tree into an extraordinary Bonsai. The natural beauty of this tree did not happen by accident as we have been developing this cascade for quit sometime now. Many consider the Prostrata juniper to be one of the best trees to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. Overall, the composition of this Juniper is of. An aged tree that has weathered the winds and snow of many winters by clinging to the cliff face with its roots deeply embedded in the crevices of the rock. The sense of rearing vigorously in the face of natures onslaught is typical of a tree on a cliff; the way the trunk rises from its powerful roots, but then immediately describes a severe sharp curve, vividly conveys a sense of natures harshness and of the trees determination to survive. The container that we chose to accompany this beautiful tree and. Gently compliments the vigorous shape of the trunk. As well as helps show several possible alternative front views is a round Japanese Tokoname bonsai pot (11×4.5). The clay pot shows two dragons at play and is a perfect pot for developing good roots because of its large drain hole. Ships to contiguous U. On a side note. SOKAN STYLE PROSTRATA JUNIPER BONSAI in OLD TOKONAME POT. Height: The height of the tree from the base to the tip of the apex is 24. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 2. Nebari (Root Spread): Tree has many exposed Roots 11. Canopy: Widest part is 29 inches across both trees. Height: The height of the tree from the base to the tip of the apex is 19. Trunk Diameter: The trunk Dia with deadwood, is approximately 1.75. When it comes to working with bonsai trees, one of the things that I absolutely love is when I get an opportunity to take an old completed bonsai that was allowed to overgrow and bring it back to where it should be. This rustic Sokan style (Twin Trunk) Prostrata juniper (Juniperus Chinensis Prostrata) looks like a very old tree because it is. The actual age and history of the tree can be found in the thickness of the sinuous trunks as well as the branch development and deadwood, which are clearly the focal points of the tree. In a genuine Sokan style tree, two trunks rise from a single base. The trunks generally touch and may be joined for a short distance above the nebari. In following the classic Japanese style one trunk is taller and thicker than the other, and both are clearly visible from the trees front and back. As previously mentioned the canopy and foliage have been recently cleaned and shaped. Because this tree is an old completed piece the primary, secondary, and tertiary branches are already set with absolutely no wire attached to the tree. What this means for its new owner is that this tree is now show ready. The sinuous trunks are also very impressive due to the thickness and. Texture that is rarely found in a Sokan style tree of this size. Any consider the Prostrata juniper to be one of the easiest junipers to work with because of its resilient ability to handle many environments. Overall, the composition of this twin trunk Juniper conveys a tree that has lived its entire life on an open windy bluff and it shows in its natural beauty. The pot that has married to this beautiful tree for quite time now is equally pleasing. It is an old, but finely done rectangular Japanese Tokoname ceramic bonsai pot (16×12x4). The tree was re-potted three years ago so it is very well established.
